Huun-Huur-Tu works with Tuvan throat singing, where overtones and undertones are woven together into a sonic space that can sound like several voices at once. The quartet connects the old singing tradition with new musical expressions and has also moved into encounters with international DJs and other collaborations. Live, the focus is on the distinctive vocal technique and the warm, rhythmic pulse that has made their interpretations of Tuvan music known far beyond Central Asia.
