Milkweed

Milkweed works with cut-up and fragmented folk material, a lo-fi feel, and a sound that shifts between British tradition and more unsettling experiments. Their expression draws on both prehistoric traces and modern sonic ruptures, giving the songs a skewed and dreamlike quality. Sofie Birch builds living ambient and electroacoustic textures from textures, field recordings, synthesis, and voice. Together they meet in a space between folk music, sound art, and enveloping atmospheres.
