Østen works in a pop universe with lyrical weight and a strong vocal. The debut album 'Daylight' revolved around rootlessness, depression and a longing for light, and the later singles 'Jeg Vil Have Det Hele', 'Hvor Svært Kan Det Være' and 'Fri og Alene' continue in the same vein. He performs with carefully selected musicians.
