Concert venue in Aarhus
On Vester Allé in Aarhus, VoxHall presents Danish and international artists across rock, metal, hip-hop and electronic music.
VoxHall opened in 1999 and was expanded in 2009, increasing its capacity from 500 to 700. The renovation gave the hall a larger balcony, a new front section and a more practical entrance. The venue works with local and national promoters on concerts spanning rock, heavy music, hip-hop and electronic music. Over the years, VoxHall has hosted festivals including SPOT Festival, Aarhus Took It, Fee Metal and Royal Metal Fest.
A large, horseshoe-shaped balcony runs around the concert hall on the first floor.
VoxHall's sound system is supplemented by dedicated speakers for the balcony.
The concert hall has a raw, urban character that shapes VoxHall's physical setting.
1 May 2004
At Fee Metal in 2004, Volbeat played on the small stage by VoxHall's bar area rather than the main stage. The band's debut album came out the following year.
3 September 2009
The xx played their first Danish concert at VoxHall on 3 September 2009, shortly after the release of their debut album. The show was part of the 2012 series, which presented new acts the organisers expected to grow.
3 October 2010
The Rapkavalkade at Aarhus Took It in 2010 brought 22 years of Danish rap together, with several generations on one stage. Einar Enemark, known as MC Einar, opened the event, which GAFFA described as a historic moment.
2012
During SPOT Festival 2012, the queue outside VoxHall for Ulige Numre stretched more than 100 metres, and many people were turned away.
Genres and moods that feature more prominently here than at other Aarhus venues right now.
